ONIX Premium Package

The Ingram ONIX Premium offering contains enriched bibliographic information for titles available from Ingram Book Company, Spring Arbor distributors, and many others. The ONIX file is an XML-formatted file.

The ONIX file in the Premium package contains the following bibliographic elements (among others).

Product Form Feature composite (Primary form - hardcover, etc.; additional form details - Pop-up book, etc.; product form features - color of cover, etc.; type of packaging - jewel case, etc.)

Title composite (Title type code, title text, title prefix, title without prefix, subtitle)
Contributor composite (contributor and contributor information) - unlimited
Edition information
Religious Text composite (bible info)
Language composite
Extent composite (page count, run type, illustration type)
Illustrations composite
BISAC main subject
Subject composite (scheme identifier, scheme name, subject code, subject heading)
Audience composite (audience range and complexity)
Prize or award achievement composite
Other Text composite (descriptions)
Imprint composite
Measure composite (dimensions, weight)
Related Product composite (lists related products)
Publishing status and publication date
Sales Rights and restrictions
Supply Detail composite (supplier name, returnability, product availability through Ingram, Price information*, discount information)

*Note regarding Price composite: While the price is included in the ONIX record, we recommend that you pull the price from the stock files instead since those are updated more frequently.

Since ONIX is a standard designed to convey book industry data, music and gifts are not available in the ONIX format; nor are images. These databases are still available in traditional fixed-width flat files when you subscribe to ONIX Premium.

There are 2 options with the ONIX Premium subscription:

Active titles (includes all titles that are available to order from Ingram, including titles available to backorder)
Active and Extended titles (Extended includes out of print titles as well as titles that may be available through other distributors but that are not available through Ingram)
